Chapter 2: A Passover Lamb for Little Lambs
Summary: The children of believers were authorized to partake of Passover and other covenantal communal meals of the Old Testament. Since the New Testament does not remove or restrict their covenant membership (as seen in Chapter 1), they are still to enjoy these privileges.
Chapter 3: Our Children and 1 Corinthians 11
Summary: In line with the total message of this epistle, Paul in 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 seeks to eliminate the divisions at the Lord's table which undermine the gift of unity which God has bestowed upon His people in Christ. Rejection of true communal participation in Christ is a profanation of the Lord's Supper, and therefore provokes divine judgment. Paul therefore calls upon the Corinthians to reflect upon their calling as Christ's body prior to partaking of the Supper, so that they will celebrate the feast in true community.
